How did you get involved in Roller Derby?
A photographer friend of mine took pictures of derby and told me I HAD to go watch a game and would love it. I did and was in awe – it was like watching a punk rock band made up of Amazonian warrior women doing battle on skates. I joined the very next skater intake.

Proudest moment as a Derby Athlete so far? Not dying when I received the hardest hits of my life from the Bogota Bone Breakers during GCR’s first international tournament. Also not dying of embarrassment when I fell over without anyone touching me when we played in Rotterdam and the crowd went “Aww, don’t worry, it’s the floor!”
But in all seriousness, winning the Golden City Rollers MVP award (shared) in 2023, and captaining Chrome Chaos as the undefeated champions for two home seasons were some biggies for me.

Why I need your support: 
I tried out for the national team in 2018 and didn’t make it. Whether out of spite or determination, or both, I started working twice as hard because it made me realise how much I wanted this. Then, to truly test my patience, I mean resolve, the next World Cup got cancelled due to Covid in 2022.
All of that to say it’s been a long, looong, loooong wait to finally make this team, and I am so excited for the opportunity to play at the World Cup. It’s a dream come true to be given the chance to line up on that jammer line in our national uniforms and play our hearts out, whatever the outcome.
