How did you get involved in Roller Derby?
A colleague saw the recruitment table and told me about what it is. I did judo and loved to roller blades growing up, so it sounded right up my alley. I pitched up the the very first practice and have been hooked since.
Proudest moment as a Derby Athlete so far? Being on team South Africa at the last 2 world cups.
Favourite Positions: Blocker, Pivot & Jammer
Why I need your support:
My journey to the 2025 Roller Derby World Cup is unlike any I’ve taken before. When I made it onto Team South Africa, I knew something wasn’t right with my knees… Turns out, I had a torn meniscus and cartilage damage! In November 2024, I underwent surgery on both knees, making this road to the World Cup one of the toughest—but also the most meaningful—of my career.
Roller derby has been part of my life for over a decade, and this will be my third time representing South Africa on the world stage. Right now, I’m working hard on my recovery, rebuilding strength, and conditioning my body to handle the demands of this incredible sport. Every day brings me closer to getting back on skates and competing at my best.
Traveling to the World Cup comes with significant costs, and I need your help to get there. Any contribution—big or small—will go directly towards travel, training, and competition expenses in Europe. If you’d like to support me on this journey, your generosity will be deeply appreciated and put to good use!
