How did you get involved in Roller Derby?
I watched a game between Texas and Golden City Rollers and was inspired by how good one of the Texas skaters was. She was a bigger skater who was a similar body to mine. So I thought “I could do that” and that’s when I signed up to learn how to skate. Which is why representation of different bodies is so important.
Proudest moment as a Derby Athlete so far? Skating with Batter C at Five Nations Playoffs

Why I need your support:
I am Block Nez Monster a skater with London Roller Derby. I am thrilled and honoured to represent South Africa at the upcoming Roller Derby World Cup in Austria.
I discovered Roller Derby while living in Johannesburg and it was love at first sight. This sport has built up my confidence in myself and made me a proud and powerful skater. I am so excited to get to the World Cup.
As a self funded sport it’s very expensive to get all the way to Austria and any penny you can spare will help make a huge difference to Team South Africa.
Please note that 25% of your contribution goes towards Team South Africa Roller Derby costs to get the team to Austria (accommodation, transport, etc), as well as processing fees.
The rest of the donation goes directly to the person you are supporting, towards whatever they need to get them and their skates/brains to the World Cup.
