Why I need your support:
Hey there, fabulous folks! I’m Ockert Rheeders, but you can call me Big CrOck – the derby dynamo on roller skates! My roller derby adventure kicked off in 2014 when I donned my number one fan hat for the Cmax league and cheered a little too loudly (okay, a lot) from the sidelines.
From 2016 to 2020, I traded my pom-poms for a microphone and became the league commentator, bringing you all the juicy play-by-plays and wild moments from the track. Think of me as the voice of derby – with a sprinkle of glitter and maybe a confetti cannon or two!
In 2018, I got to live my dream as a volunteer track sweep at the Roller Derby World Cup. Imagine me zooming around the track, channeling my inner superhero while keeping the derby safe and sound. Fast forward to 2020, and I laced up my skates at Golden City Rollers, where I went from fan to skater in no time!
By June 2022, I had leveled up to A-level status – watch out, world! I wasn’t just rolling around; I was making things happen! My skills didn’t stop there. In November 2022, I took on my most epic adventure yet as the Bench Manager for Golden City Rollers at the ‘Camino Al Mictlan’ Tournament in Mexico. Picture me strategizing like a chess master while riding the rollercoaster of emotions that come with derby!
And let me tell you, June 2024 was a blast! I served as the Bench Manager for Golden City Rollers during our Euro Tour 24, guiding the team through five epic games as we aimed to climb the WFTDA ranks. Just to keep things spicy, I also had the thrill of playing for Mercury Mayhem in the home season that year!
I’m on a mission to sprinkle fun, passion, and maybe a bit of chaos into the roller derby community – and I need your help! I’m seeking sponsorship to bring even more excitement to this wild ride and inspire others to join the roller derby family!

Please note that 25% of your contribution goes towards Team South Africa Roller Derby costs to get the team to Austria (accommodation, transport, etc), as well as processing fees.
The rest of the donation goes directly to the person you are supporting, towards whatever they need to get them and their skates/brains to the World Cup.
